If you have a loved one missing due to Hurricane Harvey:

Search the Red Cross’s Safe & Well Database to see if they have been marked safe at a shelter or other location. Add yourself to the database as well, so your contact information is readily available if others are helping your displaced loved one find family contacts.

Submit your loved one’s information and a photo to abc13 Houston at news@abc13.com to be disseminated to the public. You can view the gallery of submitted missing loved ones is here.

Check all their social media channels to see if they posted any updates of their whereabouts on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat profiles. Note that their cell phone may have been damaged in the storm, and are now without access to their contact lists or text messaging.

Share information and a photo of your loved one on the Texas Center for the Missing Facebook page so we can share with our followers.

Contact local hospitals and shelters to see if your loved one is at that facility. Please note that many of these facilities are understaffed or volunteer run, and thus they may not be able to get you the information you are requesting at this time.

We know this is a difficult time, but our staff is on the ground working with the Houston Police Department and other law enforcement and rescue agencies doing everything we can to assist in locating all those currently missing and help families reconnect.
